Home Health Care (Skilled Clinical)

Provides skilled services such as nursing or therapy when ordered and delivered under the applicable clinical-care requirements. It is different from Selora Care’s non-medical home-care services.

Private Pay

Individuals and families may choose to pay directly for in-home care.

Eligible Veterans may receive authorized home-care support through applicable VA programs and arrangements.

CalAIM Community Supports

Eligible Medi-Cal members may receive authorized home-based supports when Selora Care is contracted for the applicable service and plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is in-home care?

In-home care is non-medical support provided in a person’s home to help with everyday activities, routines, safety, comfort, and independence. Services are individualized and may include personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, mobility support, and medication reminders.

Does Medicare cover non-medical in-home care?

Original Medicare generally does not pay for custodial or personal care when that is the only care a person needs. Medicare may cover qualifying home health services, such as skilled nursing or therapy, when its eligibility requirements are met.

What is the difference between in-home care and home health care?

In-home care focuses on non-medical daily-living support. Home health care provides skilled clinical services, such as nursing or therapy, under medical orders and applicable home-health requirements.

How much does in-home care cost?

Cost depends on the schedule, amount of care, location, service needs, and whether a payer or program is involved. Selora Care can discuss expected pricing or the applicable authorization pathway during the consultation process.

Can I request a specific caregiver?

We welcome information about caregiver preferences and matching priorities. Specific caregiver placement depends on availability, qualifications, program rules, and the needs of the individual, so a particular caregiver cannot be guaranteed.

Do you provide transportation?

Transportation is not a universal Selora Care service. It may be available only when it is offered by Selora Care and permitted or authorized under the applicable program, payer arrangement, and company policy.

How do I get started?

Use the Request a Care Consultation form to provide basic contact information. Please do not submit medical information or other confidential health information through the public website. A Selora Care representative will contact you to discuss next steps.
